CHUCK ROAST
If you're looking for a simple, no-fuss meal that practically cooks itself, this slow-cooked chuck roast is for you! It's rich, flavorful, packed with healthy fats, and perfect for meal prep.

Ingredients:
-
2 lb chuck roast
-
1-2 tbsp beef tallow (or butter, duck fat, or bacon grease)
-
4 oz water
-
(Optional) Salt to taste (added after cooking)

Instructions:
1. Sear the Roast:
-
Heat a cast iron pan over high heat.
-
Add beef tallow (or your fat of choice) to grease the pan.
-
Once the pan is smoking, reduce heat to medium.
-
Sear the chuck roast for 90 seconds on each side to develop a flavorful crust.
(Pro tip: Wear an apron—this gets messy!)

2. Slow Cook:
-
Transfer the seared roast to a crockpot.
-
Add 4 oz of water (the meat will release its own juices as it cooks).
-
Cover and cook on low heat for 6 hours.

3. Serve & Enjoy:
-
Shred with a fork—it should be fall-apart tender!
-
Add salt to taste after cooking.
-
I added grilled onions on top of mine for extra flavor.
